West Yorkshire School Games. Netball Finals
We had scorching weather for the West Yorkshire Finals and were relieved to be playing indoors. There were 10 teams in the grand finals and we were split into 2 mini-leagues. All 4 of our matches were competitive and very fast-paced but we played superbly and managed to be runners-up to a fabulous team from Leeds - we reached the semi-finals!
Unfortunately we were out-played in our semi-final by a team from Bradford which went on to lift the trophy. In the play-off for 3rd place, we were second best to Ripponden again although this meant that we achieved a wonderful 4th place - no mean feat! (Similar I suppose to the England Football Team)...
The West Yorkshire School Games is quite a spectacle. Calderdale, Leeds, Bradford, Wakefield & Kirklees are represented by their best teams in a variety of sports.
