Art & Design at Old Town including Artists in Residence
We invite artists in our community to come and participate in a residency at school each half term. This enables pupils to see the processes of art, design and making in action. It helps to dispel the sometimes mysterious aura that can surround works of art when viewed in galleries or public display spaces. In the school grounds, children can see that art is something occurring in real time being produced by a real person they can talk to and ask questions about what they are making and why. Most importantly, it inspires and enthuses the children in their own artistic endeavours.
