How would a sinking ship get help fast?

Morse code was used in 1912 to alert other ships to come to the aid of the Titanic. Morse code is used for communication and is made up of dots and dashes. These can be transmitted over telegraph wires, radio waves or even flashing lights. Each letter of the alphabet has a specific rhythm of dits (dots) and dahs (dashes), which can be used to send coded messages.

If you have a torch at home, you could have a go at sending your own messages in Morse code!

Use the information sheet below to help you.
