This week we are looking at this part of the knowledge organiser.

 

With supervision I can measure and weigh ingredients.

 

There are lots of different things you can use to measure ingredients. Some are more suitable for liquids (e.g. water and milk) and others are more suitable for dry ingredients (e.g. flour, sugar and vegetables.) Have a look at the slide show to find out more. 

Are you ready to try out your new skills? I have added two recipes, both of which have been tried and tested in other cooking groups and have been extremely popular. In fact there was none left for me!

 

The blueberry muffin recipe gives you chance to practice your skills using scales and a jug.

 

The couscous recipe also incorporates skills learnt last time using the bridge and the claw.

 

Remember you need an adult with you when you cook.
