Hardcastle Crags January 2013

Class 4 pupils and staff had a fabulous snowy day in the Crags. We began our day by learning how to use GPS handsets then spent most of the morning Geocaching. It was great fun, using satellite positioning technology to find buried treasure in the woods.
We then learned about managing the woodland. We learnt how to use bow saws, loppers and secateurs and helped to take apart a huge tree that had been taken down ready for burning.
We had a fabulous afternoon den building and playing in the snow. A truly memorable day!
