Your child will have two books - one that either matches their phonic development or has been chosen to encourage your child to read a broad range of genres. The second book is chosen by your child simply for the love of reading from the school library. Please encourage your child to read the book allocated by school every day for approximately 10-15 minutes every day. Regular reading to an adult helps to keep children motivated to read. If they are able to read the library book themselves, then please encourage that too but if not, we hope that you will read it to them - maybe at bedtime.
