Lifepath June 2017

Class 4 children were lucky to be invited to join other children from local schools to take part in an event taking place in Cragg Vale called ‘Lifepath Cragg Vale’. The day involved taking part in workshops and having a go at crafts aimed to explore what Cragg Vale was like in the first half of the 19th Century and about the mills and work done by children.

 

We were also treated to tales of the mill owners who made their fortune through child labour and of strong local voices who campaigned to fight the practice.

 

We had a great day, thank you to everyone involved in making it happen.
