On this page you will find mathematical challenges, problems and puzzles that should give your brain a good work-out! Resources on this page are aimed at Years 3, 4, 5 & 6 which means they will vary greatly in difficulty therefore do 'cherry-pick' the problems that you think you can tackle according to what you have already learned. You should only spend time on these so long as you have completed all other home learning tasks set by your teacher. We would love to see any of your solutions to these challenges so do photograph them and send them in!
The problems below rely on using bar models to help solve them. You can enlarge the images by clicking on them. The first ones are easier (a good level for Y3 & 4) and then they increase in complexity through to the challenge (suitable for Y5 & 6).
